Key points to remember:

• Only cut rope lights at the predetermined cutting intervals. Look for the cut marks on the outer tubing.
• LEDs are sensitive to polarity. As such, LED rope lights may appear to not function correctly if the polarity of the electrical current is opposite from what the LEDs are expecting.
  
  *SPECIAL NOTE: Due to the way these 2-wire multi-color changing LED rope lights are manufactured, hooking them up with reversed polarity can cause brown spots to appear within the rope light tubing at approximately 16 inch intervals after a few seconds. If the rope lights do not light up right away after being plugged into a power source, unplug them immediately. Reverse the polarity and try again. Do not leave the rope light plugged in with the polarity reversed.
